Taking inspiration from the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, Aiste and Gabriel wanted a classic, vintage-themed day with some dark twists. They tied the knot in September creating a color palette of deep reds, which worked perfectly with the season.

“We both love dark colors, exotic florals and we both share a common interest in classic vintage and Victorian styles,” Aiste tells us. “We chose a dark color palette for our wedding because we love dark aesthetics. Additionally, we chose to explore many alternative and indie designers with unique style to help us create these aesthetics. , we decided that live jazz music would best match the atmosphere of our wedding and we are really happy with that decision – it was wonderful!

The Catholic ceremony took place at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Vilnius, then they had a traditional Lithuanian reception ceremony, where their parents welcomed them with a tray with bread, salt and water.

Aiste explains, “Bread symbolizes health, long life and prosperity, salt is for the brighter colors of life and hope. Water symbolizes eternal love, which binds two people together. During a ceremony, the parents also present the newlyweds with a “family home”. Ours was a handmade ceramic sculpture with a candle. This tradition is practiced at weddings in pagan antiquity and symbolizes a fire that brings light and warmth to a family and must never be extinguished.

The reception itself took place in the courtyard of the Imperial Hotel. “We celebrated our wedding in historic buildings with a beautiful atmosphere,” she continued. “Also, we really love old Lithuanian mansions, so one of them was our main photo spot. The day before our wedding, we stayed in a historic apartment in the Old Town. On our wedding day, we really wanted to experience an authentic feeling of old Vilnius.” “Don’t rush and enjoy every moment of your special day,” the bride concluded. “Take the time to find people and companies you really want to work with and let them have their say.”
