Vincent the dog was the main attraction at Imogen and George’s wedding, getting involved in the ceremony and being the best boy all day long! Their wedding was filled with color, amazing outfits, big flowers and black velvet bridesmaid dresses. They took inspiration from Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks in particular) for their outfits and wanted a general boho vibe throughout.
They chose The Pumping House in Newark as their venue, falling in love with the industrial style. In fact, the place was so beautiful that only flowers were needed as decoration. To bring in the bohemian vibe, they incorporated a mix of dried and real flowers throughout.
Bringing friends and family together for the celebration, the couple also recruited special people, using their talents to add to their day and save them money. Imogen explained: “George’s dad is a jeweler so we had him make our rings which saved money and were a nice touch! My bridesmaid is a professional pastry chef, so she made our beautiful cake.
The couple leaned towards a more traditional ceremony, with Fleetwood Mac’s Songbird as the procession and reciting the traditional vows. Continuing the musical theme, they chose Crowded House’s Fall at your Feet for their first dance and held a twist contest to Chuck Berry’s You Can Never Tell to get everyone dancing.
Trying on wedding dresses was Imogen’s favorite thing about wedding planning, but she advised being careful with shoes, with the dance floor in mind. She recommended, “Bring Air Force Ones to dance! No one can see them under your dress…” And to continue: “Don’t stress too much, whatever happens, it will always be the best day of your life.
