Ever since their engagement in October 2018, Becca and Ashley’s Pinterest board featured their dream wedding day. After going through a few bumps of postponement along the road, everything was fine in the end, and as Becca told us, “Everything went exactly as my Pinterest board had been dreaming of since we got together. engaged!”
Ditching traditional bridesmaids for dog brides and for a celestial theme, the couple chose a dark, moody palette, with pops of color in the florals and a natural green outer backdrop to add freshness. “I told Ashley to pick the theme,” Becca continued. “Ashley loves astrophotography and space, so I took this idea and ran it for our decor!”
Ashley is a dog trainer, so dogs are an integral part of her life. Who better than their best friends to play the role of their wedding party? ! Blitzen and Noli had their own special outfits, and they absolutely loved participating in the day!
Ashley’s longtime friend officiated and Becca walked down the aisle to Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams, played by a violinist. The couple opted for a vegetarian wedding, which they were worried about, however, Becca told us: “The guests loved the food which was brilliant. It was Italian food, and everyone had a plate of fresh pasta in front of them. It was spectacular!
Becca and Ashley’s biggest expense was Becca’s Hayley Paige dress, however, she told us, “It was so worth it, my dream dress!” (which may have been slightly burned with a spark later!)”
They saved a bit by not having (human!) bridesmaids and picked out a lot of materials and decor on Etsy. Becca was obsessed with every detail, wanting to plan the perfect day after such a tough few years in lockdown, but drastically underestimated the time commitment, telling us, “I wish I had known this would be my full-time job for the six months before it happened! My advice is to start planning well in advance – it’s never too early!
